Joel is the man. Very refreshing to see an instructor that is a good shooter, a fast shooter AND an intelligent shooter. To hear "your dot is your permission to fire", is way better than the trend to sacrifice accuracy for speed or safety. Joel covers everything from mechanical fundamentals to situational considerations. It was just really great to take a class where accuracy is THE standard. Focus is to build and get repetitions on good fundamentals and good mechanics. And he's just a good dude.

I have grown up shooting, and wanted to get my LTC as a woman who travels alone often. I took the Online LTC Class, and learned a lot about laws regarding guns and gun safety. The online class is easy to follow, and I never felt like I was overloaded with unnecessary information. During the Proficiency Demonstration, Joel ensured no questions I had were left unanswered, and even suggested holsters and handguns based on my preferences. I was a bit nervous as one would be for any test, but Joel made me feel comfortable and gave me pointers on how I can improve my shooting and grip. Joel is professional, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend LTC Austin to anyone looking to learn more and obtain their license to carry.

From the very informative and thorough online LTC training to Joel’s 1 on 1 proficiency evaluation, I was very impressed with the value received for the cost of the LTC package. Being a retired military member, I have been shooting for over 40 years. The online training helped remind me of extremely important safety and maintenance topics related to gun owner responsibility. The content on Texas laws regarding open and concealed carry was invaluable, and helped me realize why, despite not legally required in Texas, obtaining an LTC is an absolute necessity. Joel’s 1 on 1 range proficiency evaluation session was amazing. He is a consummate professional, and was very thorough with the evaluation. He provided complete and valuable answers to all my questions, and offered practical advice to help improve my shooting skills (grip position, timing, etc.) I highly recommend this course to anyone seeking a complete training package for their LTC.

Bill was a fantastic instructor. I'd previously taken my CHL course, but taking Bill's course in a private setting was the most enjoyable experience possible. Bill is professional, knowledgeable, and he was very observant of health and safety guidelines for social distancing. We really appreciated his attention to detail, and how easy he made the process. Bill will communicate everything you need for the class, and for afterwards, and can even provide firearm rentals for a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend Bill for any firearm training you need.

I moved to Texas from Florida few months ago and needed to switch to a Texas LTC from my Florida Concealed Weapons Permit that was expiring soon. While filling out the required paperwork for the LTC, I found out you could take classroom portion online! There were quite a few options available, so I looked for a local Austin (well, Leander) based business to support. I signed up for the LTC Austin online course to keep myself busy during the current Stay-at-Home order. The courses were thorough and easy to navigate. I really appreciated being able to do it on my own time, rather than sitting in a classroom for 5 hours like I had to do in Florida. It was a great refresher for a lot of basics and coming from another state, I found the coverage of Texas specific laws incredibly valuable, having seen many of the signs posted around town already. They have a partnership with Shady Oaks Gun Range in Cedar Park that I plan on scheduling my LTC Proficiency Demonstration with as soon as they are able to start booking them again.

Online class was informative and well done. I had no problem watching all the video segments and taking the exam at the end. Mr joel is The best he did super great job in online video class and answer all my question before i took online ltc class he is highly recomended .in the end just want to say mr joel thank you for all your hard work sir you are a great person

I did the online course instead of the classroom setting, it was straight forward and gave me all the information i needed. video segments weren't super long, except for the videos covering the laws but thats to be expected. you can complete the segments at your own leisure so you can do it in your free time. Joel was flexible with scheduling the proficiency exam, which I appreciate because my work schedule fluctuates. Good clear instructions while conducting exam. Professional yet laid back, with a wealth of knowledge to share. Highly recommended đź‘Ť

Excellent class and excellent online user interface. I did it on my computer, iPhone and iPad and it all worked seamlessly. Scheduling for the proficiency was fast and easy. Joel made going to a range that I had not been to before very comfortable and easy. He was definitely there to help not there to show off. I had lots of questions: choice of gun, choice of holster, practice strategies, etc. and he patiently answered all of them.

This review is for the on-line Texas LTC class. The videos are broken into 15-20 minute segments and are easy to follow. Joel brings real life law enforcement perspective to all aspects of gun and public safety. I completed the class on my PC and android phone over several days on my own pace. I received the Texas LTC certificate....just need to schedule the proficiency demonstration. Thanks Joel!
